On average, users replace mobiles every 18 months. Fifteen million handsets are discarded in the UK each year, but only 4% are recycled. Recycled mobiles can also raise money for charities.

Help the Aged receive a minimum of £5 for each reusable mobile phone. Drop your mobile phone into your local Help the Aged shop, or put your old mobile phone, plus battery and charger if possible, into an envelope and send it to:

Co-op stores provide freepost envelopes for recycling mobiles for Oxfam.
Tesco stores have pre-paid envelopes in which to send old mobiles for recycling. You can choose to receive Green Clubcard Points, or Tesco will make a donation to the British Red Cross.
