REQUIPIT is a social enterprise that refurbishes all types of domestic electrical appliances. They welcome donations of domestic electrical appliance (excluding computer equipment) which are then fully tested, repaired and reused. Items unsuitable for reuse are recycled. REQUIPIT do not sell directly to the public but appliances are available in many charity shops.

Electrical goods can be taken to the Community Recycling Centres in Edinburgh and West Lothian for recycling. See COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRES.
The Special Uplift Service in Edinburgh can be use to recycle electrical items if you are unable to take them to one of the Community Recycling Centres. This service is subject to change once the arrangements for the implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive are clearer.
